Job Description

Primary Purpose:

Primary account owner and primary point of contact for Medicare Health Plans.  Communicate with Health Plans on a regular basis; developing a trusting/productive relationship with clients. Initiate development of action plans, implementation, address processes, customer service, sales service, and technical concerns.  Works collaboratively to make informed decisions with all resources and key contacts.  Acts as liaison to all internal departments as well as client contacts.  Responsible for all escalated customer and compliance issues between HealthCompare or NGIC (Medicare) and carriers.   Work with carriers to build Medicare sales projections and action plans leading to Carrier Co-Op funds to support marketing and lead purchases.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Schedule meetings with all functional areas to review activity and account status; develop meeting agenda including performance reports from each area; provide functional managers with updates on client issues and feedback from carrier interactions
  • Direct the functional areas in their development of action plans to resolve and/or address deficiencies in deliverables
  • Proactively seek to identify unanticipated business drivers; information must be shared immediately with all affected parties
  • Develop, establish and maintain positive working relationships with Health Plan in order to meet or exceed renewed goals
  • Develop special handling procedures for Ancillary plans and Regional Health Plans with unique service requirements
  • Work with functional managers and performance reporting team to proactively identify internal and external service needs 
  • Work to ensure timeliness of all reporting to client and/or their respective vendors
  • Respond to inquiries from clients within timeframes assigned
  • Advise client of any service disruptions; share information related to cause and recovery time
  • Management of assigned accounts
  • Manage the installation and implementation process
  • Develop strategies to increase Health Plans loyalty and to build relationships to maintain and increase membership within Health Plans
  • Responsible for effective communication and coordination within internal team and clients
  • Facilitate communications between functional leaders and subject matter experts and serve as liaison between clients and the internal operations staff
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with key contacts and team members in all functional areas
  • Provide appropriate training for internal and sales teams
  • Provide education and sales support within Health Plan
  • Work collaboratively with Health Plans to support and build sales and marketing opportunities


Minimum Skills and Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree or in-lieu of degree equivalent education, training and work-related experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • 2+ years of direct carrier relations experience
  • Strong working knowledge Medicare regulations and process
  • Strong working knowledge of Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) best practices, to include A/B and multivariate testing of campaign structure, digital properties and internal operational flows
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and consultative skills needed to effectively manage clients
  • Ability to work independently and assess situations quickly and make logical and appropriate decisions
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively work in a fast-paced environment; must meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated, requiring little or no supervision; flexible, team player, able to motivate others
  • Ability to develop corrective strategies and assist in presenting
  • Develop and maintain effective business relationships with clients and functional management
  • Mature and professional in attitude and appearance
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a focus in marketing computer science or management
  • Advanced in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Previous management of Medicare Carriers
  • Medicare specific knowledge regarding broker and sales related compliance
  • Working knowledge of Quotit Medicare tools
  • Thorough understanding of the NGIC and HealthCompare brands and ability to exhibit behaviors associated with it
