Job Description

Primary Purpose:

Administer the structure and stability of the enterprise SharePoint environment under the direction of the SharePoint Architect and VP of Data Services.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  • Responsible for configuration and maintenance of the multiple SharePoint server farms
  • Assist SharePoint Architects with site and farm build outs including file repositories for business areas, lists, work flows, and meta data
  • Support and maintain the knowledge base application, department Intranet sites, and any sub-sites needed for specialized access
  • Work with the IT leadership team on design and architecture of the SharePoint farm
  • Work with the various business stakeholder groups on SharePoint content, layout, and guidelines
  • Monitor and recommend improvements as needed for SharePoint sites to maintain scalability, performance, and stability


Minimum Skills and Competencies:

  • Bachelor Degree or in-lieu of degree equivalent education, training and work-related experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in administering corporate SharePoint environments Solid understanding of how SharePoint is installed and configured
  • Expert in SharePoint Services (e.g. Search Services, Excel Services, etc.)
  • Expert in SharePoint Central administration configurations (configuration, security, and structure)
  • Expert in SharePoint integration options (reporting, business analytics)
  • Knowledgeable in SharePoint Document Content Management features (collaboration)
  • Knowledgeable in SharePoint Enterprise Content Management features (publishing)
  • Knowledgeable  in SharePoint Workflow development
  • Knowledgeable Information Architecture best practices and guidance
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience working with senior IT management and business stakeholders
  • Strong oral and written communication skills


Desired Skills:

  • Experience working with vendors and consulting companies
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft and Open Web based programming techniques
  • Understanding of SharePoint usability (sites, web, libraries, web parts, etc.)
  • Knowledgeable in using InfoPath to create structured data forms
