Primary Purpose:

Be a results driven, strategic thinker who owns and is accountable to meeting business goals and objectives. Lead day-to-day execution, testing, measurement, reporting, and analysis, keeping projects and initiatives on track with goals and strategies, while monitoring for opportunities. Primary focus on Direct Mail program for Good Sam Insurance Agency, with heavy emphasis on successful results and driving business growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the execution, testing, measurement, reporting, tracking, analysis, and optimization recommendations of monthly Direct Mail program
  • Make valuable contributions to the business by driving revenue and efficiencies, as well as establishing and strengthening internal and external partner relationships
  • Recommend annual program projections and road mapping growth plan, by working with internal stakeholders to align lead gen and retention programs to business strategy and goals
  • Process and deliver data to meet mail drop deadlines and premium fulfillment timelines
  • Manage the vendor relationships, contract and pricing negotiations, quality assurance audits, vendor evaluations, and RFP reviews for all Direct Mail processes, including preprinted inventory, print on demand, and giveaways
  • Monitor component inventory with internal team and vendor, aligning replenishment with content updates and production cost efficiencies, while allowing flexibility for creative/messaging refreshes and testing
  • Lead collaboration with client, brand, content, graphics, and legal teams to ensure creative is fresh, on brand, and compliant
  • Be a Subject Matter Expert, utilizing industry expertise to provide insights on cost-effective, high-quality print solutions, optimizations, and key metrics, that align with overall project goals and drive results
  • Understand the consumer, with the ability to step back from design and perceive content from a customer’s perspective
  • Evaluate, trouble shoot, and make recommendations as challenges arise
  • Analyze data, reporting, and KPIs, along with industry best practices to develop program improvements
  • Maintain and improve robust reporting structure
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify growth opportunities and develop new campaigns as needed
  • Collaborate with Direct Mail model lead and stakeholders on model optimization opportunities to meet or beat planned projections  
  • Manage any team/direct reports

Minimum Skills and Competencies:

  • 4+ years of Marketing experience in Corporate or Agency setting
  • 3+ years of experience specifically in Direct Mail marketing
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or adjacent field, or equivalent education, training and work-related experience
  • Strong knowledge of direct marketing and ecommerce technologies, trends, and tactics (e.g. A/B testing, optimizing conversion, implementing contact strategies, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with vendors, partners, and internal teams
  • Ability to make decisions and prioritize resources to achieve measurable results
  • Ability to self-manage data production, process and manage mailing lists, create target audience segments for custom direct marketing campaigns, including requirements gathering, audience selection, and list order management in a database programming environment, including sftp
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of processes related to: print production, direct mail operations, postal regulations and formats, workflow and supply chain management
  • Solid analytical and interpretive skills, with the ability to take complex data sets and ideas and filter into actionable business insights
  • Ability to work across teams to accurately execute all phases of the program on firm deadlines
  • Ability to communicate clearly and consistently with manager, internal and external stakeholders, as well as leadership
  • Skilled in multi-tasking and creative problem-solving
  • Strong critical thinking, prioritization, organization, and project management skills
  • Adaptable to growth and change in a fast paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel  

Desired Skills:

  • Experience working with revenue generating programs and customer acquisition programs preferred
  • Experience with SAS and/or SQL Server preferred
  • Experience with Python and R preferred
  • Email experience with Enterprise wide ESP, bonus if with Salesforce ExactTarget
  • Experience building, deploying, and reporting metrics with an ESP
  • Working knowledge of HTML
  • Experience with Teamwork or similar work flow tools
  • Inquisitive mind that can communicate effectively, with acute attention to detail
  • Display confidence, emotional intelligence, decisiveness, and executive presence
